Each month we’ll showcase some of our latest and greatest PhotoShelter members; those who are building their PhotoShelter sites and uploading some fantastic work within just a few weeks of joining the community.
This month we’d like to introduce two special new members, both of whom take some amazing travel and landscape shots – but decided to display their work in totally different ways with PhotoShelter. While Ian Furniss has chosen one of our classic templates, Thomas Russ Arnestad decided to experiment with our Beam portfolio sites, which are currently in public beta. Take a look at their work below.
Thomas Russ Arnestad / Lumio Photo
Specialty: Real estate photography
Website: lumio.photoshelter.com
PhotoShelter member since: June 28, 2013
Why he joined: “I signed up for Photoshelter for the second time around. After trying other services for about a year (Zenfolio, Smugmug, etc) I realized none of them could match Photoshelter in any way – despite a lower price. Now I’m back, I feel like I’ve come “home” again,” says Thomas. He wanted a complete site that could showcase his work, incorporate integrated sales, and have the ability to integrate blogs and videos all in one place. “That’s quite hard to come across unless you’re a brilliant coder yourself!” he says.
How long he’s been photographing: 9 years
What he shoots with: His trusted Canon 5D MK II
What he loves about PhotoShelter: “What I love the most is how Photoshelter manages to combine a great design with the combination of an elegant storefront – and that the check-out process actually works and is logical for the customer,” says Thomas. He also loves our integrated print partnerships which include White House Custom Color, Adorama Pix, and more – in addition to having the option to choose your own print vendor to work with.
Ian Furniss
Specialty: Travel and landscape
Website: ianfurniss.com
PhotoShelter member since: June 27, 2013
Why he joined: Ian was looking for a professional solution to display his work. “I wanted to move things on to the next level and decided a professional solution, such as PhotoShelter, rather than a DIY site was an important part way to do that,” he says.
How long he’s been photographing: 5 years
What he shoots with: Canon 40D
What he loves about PhotoShelter: “So far the main thing that has appealed to me has been the professionalism and undying patience of the Support Staff who have helped me get the site up and running as I want it.” Although Ian claims he’s “been a geek since the early days of analogue synths,” he admits he still can’t do everything himself. ” The support staff have been really helpful and patient with my needs,” he says.
Thanks Thomas and Ian for your submissions! We look forward to your growing portfolios.
