Arkansas Tech University has selected PhotoShelter as their trusted media library and digital asset management solution.
Arkansas Tech University has selected PhotoShelter as their trusted media library and digital asset management solution to help them realize their commitment to high-quality photo management.
Arkansas Tech University (ATU) is dedicated to student success, access, and excellence as a responsive campus community providing opportunities for progressive intellectual development and civic engagement.
Embracing and expanding upon its technological traditions, this university inspires and empowers members of the community to achieve their goals while striving for the betterment of Arkansas, the nation, and the world.
With an honorable and wide-reaching mission, ATU has a brand to uphold and a content strategy to develop as they continue to grow.
One of the challenges they faced internally, as their Marketing and Communications team took stock of their media and creative processes, was the struggle to provide access to their files and organize their archive of photos and other visual assets.
PhotoShelter was the perfect solution.
Easy Access to Visual Assets
Elizabeth Underwood, Director of MarComm at ATU, heard about PhotoShelter years ago when working for a nonprofit. She told us, “A photographer friend mentioned that PhotoShelter was her #1 choice for digital asset management. I remembered that when I worked for a nonprofit organization and, after researching many options, implemented it there. I know PhotoShelter will have an immediate positive effect on our projects, but will also open up new levels of capabilities to support our future ambitions.”
“When I realized the system that got us where we are, wasn’t going to get us where we wanted to go, I looked up PhotoShelter again and the rest is history.”

Now, Elizabeth and her team can cut down on the number of tools needed to get organized. Prior to signing on with PhotoShelter, they were using a combination of tools.
Elizabeth told us, “They all have their merits, but PhotoShelter offers so much more.”
With PhotoShelter as their digital asset management solution, they can efficiently manage their growing media library and quickly deliver content to those who need it. Elizabeth mentions that “the sharing options are beyond simple.”
ATU’s MarComm team can now create groups of PhotoShelter users within their organization, and add those groups to specific galleries in their Library, each with unique levels of access and permissions.
“My personal favorite solution is the ability to use SSO (Single Sign-On). Anyone with an atu.edu email address can see everything and download (almost) everything,” Elizabeth explains. “This helps us keep our assets safe and secure, while still providing access to our campus community.”
“As Arkansas Tech University empowers their students to forge a bright future, we are thrilled to empower those working behind the scenes to share their stories,” said PhotoShelter CEO Andrew Fingerman. “It is a joy to partner with this higher ed institution and transform the way they manage and share their visual assets.”
