The Savannah Bananas Play Ball with PhotoShelter DAM and Distribution

The Savannah Bananas select PhotoShelter as their DAM and content distribution platform, powering their fan-first mission.

Known for sold-out stadiums, viral moments, and a fresh take on baseball, Fans First Entertainment (parent company of the Savannah Bananas) is now using PhotoShelter to manage and distribute the fast-moving content that fuels their brand.

As they grow, their mission remains simple: “Fans First. Entertain Always.” VP of Marketing, Kara Heater, told us, “That is the driving force behind everything we do. We have a goal to “Make Baseball Fun”, which is what led to creating Banana Ball.”

The challenge: Speed at scale

With six independent pro teams on the road and a social presence rivaling major league franchises, the Savannah Bananas create content at every game that needs to be shared instantly with players, partners, and fans.

After outgrowing their previous DAM and distribution tools, the team needed a platform that could scale with their growth.

“Content creation drives so much of what we do,” says Kara. “So it’s important that we have a platform that can match those needs.”

Powering real-time content with PhotoShelter

The switch to PhotoShelter was driven by conversations with brands already using it at stadiums across the country. Kara explained, “It became clear to us that this product was something we needed to implement to take us to the next level.”

Now, the Savannah Bananas can upload photos in real time using an FTP workflow and automatically tag images with AI-powered facial recognition. PhotoShelter also makes it easy to share content directly with players and partners, helping everyone post faster and grow their own brands.

“We have players, staff, and partners who will utilize PhotoShelter to get content and help grow the game and brand of Banana Ball and bring enjoyment to our fans through photos!”
